All vehicles are 4WD, well-maintained and provide a pop-up roof for game viewing. The challenging conditions of Ugandan roads means that safari vehicles are serviced by FTU company mechanics after every trip. For our clients' convenience, we try to limit the number of people in one vehicle to 5-6 persons, ensuring that everybody has a window seat and luggage can be stored comfortably.
Aware of the critical role a guide plays in our guests’ holiday experience, we hire only the best. Of our expert full-time guides, many used to be National Parks rangers within the Uganda Wildlife Authority and therefore have extensive local knowledge of our autochthonous Birds, Wildlife, Flora and Fauna, History, Culture, and Geography. Some avid ornithologists complete our crew. They also attend regular courses with the accrediting Uganda Safari Guides Associations, are members of the Bird Guides Clubs, Nature Uganda and Conservation Societies. In addition, we can provide German or Spanish-speaking Tour Leaders/ Guides, as well as accompanying translators in any of the other major international languages upon request. They are all licensed by the Uganda Government through Uganda Tourism Board.

Gorilla Trekking Experience
During a gorilla safari, also known as gorilla trekking, you get the chance to experience one of the most spectacular 'up-close' and personal wildlife encounters possible in a lifetime: meeting our distant relatives in the misty rainforests, their natural habitat. A gorilla trek is a magical, unforgettable experience. From a lodge near the park, you'll rise early and venture into the misty forest. The hike takes you through dense jungle (think: machetes, vines, Tarzan, and Jane), led by a tough ranger who tracks down the mountain gorillas. Sometimes you’ll find them right away, other times, it may take up to five hours of hiking before you encounter them. And there you stand: face to face with these majestic apes. You get to admire them for an hour as they casually go about their business, just metres away. This tour might not be a budget option, but the experience is one you’ll never forget!
Murchison Falls is one of the oldest and largest parks in Uganda, making it a true safari hotspot. The park is particularly known for the Nile River that winds its way through the park—the second-longest river in the world. Somewhere within the park, millions of litres of water force their way through a narrow rock gorge, creating the powerful and spectacular Murchison Falls. It’s a paradise for water lovers, and not just for the human visitors!
Queen Elizabeth National Park is a vast, elongated park in the east of Uganda. The big advantage of this park is that much of the wildlife roams outside the official park boundaries, As you drive along the public road through the park, you can stop at a small village situated on the shores of the Kazinga Channel. This 32-kilometre-long channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward. From the village, you can hop on a boat and drift along the shores. Did you know that this channel is home to the largest hippo population in the world? You’ll be amazed, and it’s not just the animal kingdom that offers a behind-the-scenes peek… Human life also carries on along the shores of the Kazinga Channel: mothers wrapped in colourful cloths doing the laundry, children splashing and playing, and fishermen casting their nets from wooden boats.
Off The Beaten Track
Uganda is known for its dense jungles, shimmering lakes, and mountain gorillas. But in the north, a completely different landscape unfolds: Karamoja and Kidepo Valley. A region where the roads are dusty, the wilderness untouched, and the culture raw and authentic. In the far north of Uganda, hidden between rugged valleys and rolling green hills, lie Karamoja and Kidepo Valley National Park. The bumpy roads snake through vast plains like veins, leading you to encounters with the traditional Karamojong people, the challenging slopes of Mount Napak, and lion sightings in a park hailed by CNN as one of Africa’s most stunning. Uganda’s wild north is not for the faint-hearted—get ready for an unforgettable experience!
“Hi there, I'm Frank, founder and owner of Frank Tours Uganda. When I finished Makerere University, some of my friends became lawyers and others went on to build up successful careers of their own. They bought suits, had offices and began “real life”. I, however, took a very different path. At 22, armed with a degree in Art, I accepted a job driving tourists around Uganda. No power suits or office for me, just plain clothes and a hat on my head. Technically, I was a “tour driver.” My job was to chauffeur tourists around, for groups - large and small - from various countries, visiting different National Parks and other sites of interest in my homeland. More than 10 years on, I've lost count of the total number of tours I have led until now. Let me tell you - leading large groups of tourists has always been an interesting experience. Expectations were always different to the smaller groups. Honestly though, I have loved and enjoyed every minute of it. For me, it has been an amazing, maturing experience and to this day, I still take joy from welcoming and guiding you, here at ”.
