The drive will lead you through the spectacular western rift valley escarpment, an open savannah dotted with acacia and fig trees to the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth Natl. Park. This open savannah on the rim of the Albertine Rift Valley is also home to the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha – which can only be found here – and other residents of the park over 600 bird species – the largest concentration in a single reserve in the whole of eastern Africa. You will start with a morning Lion trekking game drive, which will take you through the Kasenyi and Queen’s Plains, an area that is frequented by a wide range of animal and bird species, including lions, kobs, water bucks, elephants, warthogs, cape buffaloes, spotted hyenas and mongooses. Today after breakfast you will drive for about 3 hours to Kibale forest. After lunch you will go for Chimpanzee trekking at 2.00pm starting from the Kanyanchu Visitor Center, you will head out to the lush Kibale Forest for 3h chimpanzee trekking. You will get to see some other interesting residents of the forest, including various primates such as l’hoest monkeys, blue monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, baboons, white & black colobus monkeys, and the red colobus monkeys, among other wildlife. After an hour or so of scouring the forest, you will eventually come face-to-face with the chimpanzees and observe them play, feed and care for each other. Overnight Kibale Forest Camp, Stay 1 night.
Driving to Murchison Falls NP North through Homia, we reach the south of the MFNP which is covered by bush and forest. Closer to the river a delightful tract of savanna rolls down to the river from the Rabongo road in the very center of the park. We shall have lunch en-route in Homia town at a local restaurant. Arrive at Murchison River Lodge. in the afternoon for dinner and overnight. Stay 2 Nights. .
Today you will have an early breakfast and then go on an early morning safari in the park. You will then return to the Lodge for a break and have lunch then go on a 2 hour boat ride along the River Nile that takes you to the bottom of the waterfalls. You expect to see Nile Crocodiles, Elephants coming to drink water, birds like African Fish Eagles, Pied Kingfishers, Goliath Heron, Red throat-ed Bee Eater among many others. You will then do a 1 hour hike to the top of the falls were you will meet you guide and return to Murchison River Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Transfer to Jinja Town. Along the way trek the White Rhinos on foot at Ziwa Sanctuary. This is one of the only places in Africa were you can trek the Rhinos on foot. You can come as close as 7 meters and you will be lead by an experienced ranger guide who will tell you a lot of stories about the White Rhinos. You will have lunch and then drive to Jinja. Today after easy breakfast you shall take a boat trip to see the Source of the River Nile and then later visit the Jinja town. If you like adventure this is the place to be! Jinja is the fun place in Uganda and you can do all kinds of crazy things, like Quad biking, wildwater canoeing, Mountain biking, family rafting, horseback riding and so much more. If you prefer to relax instead it's as well a very good place to hang out.Overnight Casa Mia.
After breakfast, a drive through the eastern part of Uganda takes you to beautiful Sipi Falls, on a plateau 1800m above sea level.
The Sipi River flows over the foothills of Mount Elgon, forming a spectacular series of waterfalls (some nearly 100m high), surrounded by village walking trails and lush green coffee-producing hills. Today is a free day its highly recommended to visit Mabamba Swamp in search for the rare Shoe-bill Stock among many other water birds such as Kingfishers, African Jacana, Bee Eaters among others and if time allows a visit to Botanical Gardens as well. Later relax freshen up in your hotel before transfer to Entebbe for your flight home.
